Cybersecurity, Computer and Information Security
Due to the widespread use of ICT and the strengthening of the fourth industrial revolution, information flows abundantly and has become more complex to manage, structure, and protect. This chapter provides a space for the academic community, together with industry and other organizations, to identify cyber threats and propose risk reduction mechanisms by applying models, methodologies, standards, laws, frameworks, and security best practices.
Objectives
- Promote research and innovation around solutions to computer threats and strengthening vulnerability management and risk reduction.
- Establish control mechanism proposals that allow organizations, academia, and individuals to find the right balance regarding security.
- Explore cooperation mechanisms with other interest groups, communities, and national/international entities to support solutions or form security incident response teams.
- Promote a space for healthy discussion on local, national, or global issues around cybersecurity and information security.
- Foster spaces for the academic community to contribute, develop, and propose solutions to security problems through symposia, workshops, courses, webinars, conferences, and scientific articles.
